This is our first day of collecting items for 2020. Watch for the flyer I will send out this afternoon. Thanks to all our coalition partners who helped in 2018 & 2019 - we are (of course) doing assembly and distribution differently this year - but could still really use your help! 00:37:53 Mark Merrill, Shared Housing Services he/him/his: SHS will work with the home provider to talk to the landlord about renting out their room. Sometimes, the landlord just agrees, other times they will require the home seekers to sign a lease. We explore that area upfront when a new home provider contacts us. 00:38:32 Verna: Thanks Mark and Julian 00:38:42 Mark Merrill, Shared Housing Services he/him/his: Shared Housing Services contact info: 00:40:17 Mark Merrill, Shared Housing Services he/him/his: Shared Housing Services contact info: Office phone 253-272-1532 Mark's email is markm@sharedhousingservices.org Juleeann Fisher, Program Coordinator email juleeann@sharedhousingservices.org 00:43:01 Theresa Power-Drutis, New Connections: Laurie is great - We've referred many people to Tacomaprobono through the years. We as a community have failed our neighbors experiencing homelessness by not collectively and effectively addressing the root causes of homelessness. The existence of vacant buildings while men, women and children are living on the streets is the clearest sign of this communal failure to ensure all residents have access to safe shelter. Individuals and families choosing to peacefully occupy empty buildings to avoid sleeping on the streets is a non-violent way of meeting their basic needs. 02:08:29 Serena - Vadis: thank you 02:10:07 Gerrit Nyland: That was Janne Hutchins with LASA - janne@lasawa.org 02:10:16 Serena - Vadis: happy thanksgiving everyone 02:10:24 Pam Hughes (CoBuy): Happy Holiday! 02:10:40 Ryanne’s iPhone: thank you all stay safe!
